Gas, LNG, Refining & Marketing

GCA is able to offer a fully-integrated consultancy approach, which addresses issues along the full value chain, from crude oil reserves to refined product markets and from natural gas development plans through to the design of gas-based industrial facilities.

Within the gas sector, a key aspect of the firm's business is the utilisation and conservation of gas.  Our capabilities include the assessment of optimal gas transportation and monetisation options.  At a primary level, this entails analysing the feasibility of moving gas by pipeline to local or international end-markets.  Here, we can examine the potential for gas' penetration in each end-market sector, requiring an analysis of expected energy growth and competing fuel supply/economics.  Having established end-market pricing and offtake drivers, GCA can examine gas pipeline supply options using in-house data and economic models, to assess the overall feasibility of pipeline gas deliveries. 

Where gas reserves allow, our experience of LNG project development, transportation and end-markets also enables the company to assess the feasibility of moving gas in liquid form, capabilities which also extend to investigating the economics of delivering gas in LNG or hydrate form.

GCA's in-depth experience of analysing the technical, economic and strategic aspects of LNG, methanol, ammonia, GTL and other downstream processes is brought to bear for those clients wishing to make an informed choice when assessing optimal gas conversion options.  Within this, GCA is able to apply its in-house knowledge and economics models to analyse all aspects of each gas monetisation option, from the technical and economic merits of each process, through to end-market dynamics likely to influence product absorption and price.

In a similar vein, GCA is able to assess and value downstream crude oil/LPG/condensate transportation, supply/distribution and marketing assets in the refining and petrochemical sectors, analysing the economic feasibility of capacity additions and alternate process configurations.  Again, an in-depth knowledge of international crude oil and refined product supply, demand, pricing and product specifications ensures GCA's solutions are realisable within the evolving refined product and petrochemicals marketplace.

In addition to the integrated supply/demand/pricing aspects of GCA's work, the company's specialist midstream/downstream knowledge and skills can be applied on behalf of clients to drill down in specific areas.  These may include optimisation of energy sales/purchase contracts; technical/commercial risk and strategy formulation.
